Singer Miley Cyrus has recently submitted applications for two trademark registrations, signaling her increasing involvement in the Metaverse.

Miley’s foray into this digital realm is not new, as she has previously appeared in Gucci Town on Roblox. However, her latest venture into the Metaverse seems to be a more personal undertaking.

According to information from a trademark attorney, Miley Cyrus has filed for two trademarks in the Metaverse space, both closely associated with NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens).

Miley Cyrus Metaverse Initiative

Attorney Mike Kondoudis has disclosed that pop star Miley Cyrus has trademarked her name for a new Metaverse-based venture.

Miley’s trademark applications, registered under serial numbers 97551201 and 97551195, will enable her to launch her own line of downloadable virtual goods. This range includes art, clothing, jewelry, eyewear, footwear, bags, toys, videos, and more, encompassing game equipment, characters, badges, and other related items as indicated in the filings.

Previously, Miley ventured into the Metaverse through her association with fashion brand Gucci. She has recently become the face of Gucci Beauty’s Flora Gorgeous Jasmine campaign.

This collaboration extends to her digital avatar’s presence in the virtual Gucci Town on the gaming platform Roblox, where visitors can take digital selfies with the Miley avatar.

The trend of Hollywood celebrities entering the Metaverse is growing, with many registering their trademarks for future NFT collections. Among them is pop star Rihanna, a notable figure in the cosmetics industry.

Rihanna has filed a trademark application for her beauty line, Fenty Beauty, with the intent of introducing it to the Metaverse. This trademark will facilitate the creation and sale of virtual makeup from her cosmetics line within the Metaverse.

Mike Kondoudis Continues to Announce Applications!

Mike Kondoudis, an attorney specializing in NFTs and the Metaverse, not only shared details about Miley Cyrus’s filings but also revealed actual documents recorded by her team.

Furthermore, Kondoudis disclosed that in July 2022, FIFA registered Metaverse trademarks for the 2026 World Cup. According to these filings, FIFA plans to introduce digital versions of its World Cup 2026 merchandise, including apparel, hats, eyewear, and sports equipment, through virtual retail outlets.

Kondoudis commented on the recent surge in such applications, noting, “We are in a developing world. New virtual worlds are emerging every day. That’s why I’m committed to keeping the industry informed as much as possible.”

Indeed, the increasing number of applications is a clear indicator of well-known brands rapidly moving into this space. This growing trend is generating excitement among investors and enthusiasts, fueling speculation about the future scope and progress of the industry.
